Cabinet Door Cutters
Cabinet Door Cutters
These speciality cutters make stile and rail work possible
for the home shop. They can be used to make beautiful doors, in either M.D.F., or solid lumber. We make use of jigs to help set
the proper cutting depth, for each cutter. We use H.M.W.P.,(high molecular weight polyethylene), for these jigs, as they're
unaffected by expansion and contraction, due to humidity changes. This can be purchased at Woodcraft, in small "grab bags" of assorted size
pieces. The jigs can be small squares, about 5" square. When installing a bit in the tool, set the depth according the pre shaped jig. Use a
scrap of wood to get the height setting right for the jig. Always make sure that the bit is inserted almost all the way into the tool, but do
not let it "bottom out". We make it a habit of inserting a rubber O-ring into the shaft of the router, or shaper, to prevent the bit from
hitting bottom. This will prevent damage to the collet and bit, as it tightens on the bit.
It is absolutely critical to use these cutters in a table mounted router, or a shaper.
Any attempt to use these bits in a hand held router will lead to serious injury! Don't even think about it!
Stile and Rail Bit Sets for creating raised panel doors. Both horizontal and vertical raised panel bits.
